It's a Fender Jazz? Electronic? Pickups?

Barry is a good friend of mine and I have played the bass in the picture. It's a Fernandes with an installed pre-amp made by a cat in California, has a badassII bridge and emg's. Barry and i were together last night along with bassist Tom Barney of Stealey Dan fame amongst others...
