Hello everyone! I have a Gibson LPB-25 with Bartolini 4-conductor pups and a TCT preamp in it. Someone before I bought it drilled and installed coil tap switches for each pickup and I would like to utilize those switches for a different purpose. However, I'm a bit confused by Bartolini's diagrams. One switch I will change to a DPDT ON/OFF/ON and use for Inner singles/Humbuckers/Outer singles this one I understand and am fine with. The other I would like to be an Active/Passive switch but Bartolini has a couple different diagrams for this. One includes two different caps(one on each side of the switch) and the other has no caps at all(guitar electronics calls it a True bypass). Which one is correct? Also I read that I will have to change the Volume pot to a 250k or 500k pot. Is this true? Furthermore as I understand it I will lose all tone control in passive mode as I will be bypassing the preamp and it is wired directly to the treble/bass control pots. Is this true?
I would like to order all the parts at once so any help understanding this mod would be greatly appreciated. If you have any experience with this and could help me work out a diagram I would be eternally grateful. Thanks in advance all!
