Bartolini preamp question...9v or 18v?

I'm currently making a fretless bass out of my old yamaha rbx-750a...i finally have the funds to out fit my bass with bartolini electronics. I have decided on the NTMB-918f (3 band Preamp). The information on this type of preamp says i can wire it for a 9 or 18 volt configuration....I'm curious if any TB'ers out there can tell what kind of sound difference if any there is going to be wiring my bass as an 18v as opposed to a 9v config...bigger is better right????

No sound difference, you will have more gain/output going into your amp and your batteries will last longer.

BTW, Bartolini makes the NTMB-918FL, which is voiced for fretless. I don't know any more than that about it, but I'm sure Tom Wagner the Bart distributor could help you out.

Cool Thanks RPATTER!!!! I missed that on the bart web site. Thats perfect for my bass project. I just hope they make it in harness form so i can avoid wiring it myself...lol thanks again for the info
