As a guitarist in bassist clothing I use a pick pretty well but my right hand technique playing with fingers leaves something to be desired... What are your suggestions on the best place to learn such things?

Sorry. I was in your shoes once. The trick is to learn finger-style guitar first. 
All kidding aside, start by playing slowly and do it till you are perfect and then up the speed a little. There may be some specific exercises out there for this purpose, but I can’t reference them. Start with single string exercises, then go to single string skips, etc. You are learning to walk, don’t go trying to play basketball right away. Find a teacher if you feel progress is too slow.

I know how and where to practice...Its the what to practice I seek....
Just play the stuff you already know. Songs that you know and like and can already play with a pick. . . then just play them with your fingers.
Pick easy songs to start with, run the songs on YouTube with the speed set to .75.
