Bass Big Muff Issue - Lost High End Frequency / Definition

I have an Electro Harmonix Bass Big Muff. It's the green one with the 3 way switch.
The issue is that it seems the pedal has lost some of high end frequencies. It's is now muddy and lacks definition. I stopped using it a year ago because I didn't need it and just recently put it back on my board. That's when I noticed it lack of sizzle/high end definition. The 3 way switch doesn't seem to do much either especially when switching from "NORM" to "BASS BOOST".
When I switch to "DRY" the volume still controls the drive volume level but the drive sounds has the same lack of high end frequencies. So I think the issue is due to the 3 way switch but I don't know. Not sure. Also it's a $98 pedal. I'm not handy so I can't solder (if needed), am I better off buying a new one than deal with spending more $ to fix it?
I searched for similar issues and couldn't find any. Hoping someone here might know something. Happy to get it fixed if it's simple and common. I emailed EH customer service. I'll let you know they respond. Thanks eveyone!!

I don't know exactly how the tone control on a BMP is wired, but maybe something's wrong with the tone control? I have a pedal currently that may need solder reflowed on the tone knob, and the effect of that is that it sounds like it's full on all the time regardless of knob position. Could be a similar issue for you

Otherwise it's hard to say. Does the tone control brighten the tone when you turn it CW?

For $25 you can send it to EHX (call/email first) to get it fixed. I sent them a pedal to get fixed and that’s what they charged me. It may not be broken, though. You may remember it having more high end than there actually is, as it’s been a while since you’ve used it, as you said.
