hi folks.
could somebody please tell my how a bass with afzelia body sounds compared to the same bass with padouk body ?
thanks.

GRENADE!!!!!!!
One, two, five... (three, sir)... three...
The body affects the sound on bolt-on and set-in basses while (IMHO, of course) wings have less influence on neck-thru 'cause the strings vibrate on the neck wood and the wings only take a small part in that (if any).
I've built my first two "serious" basses with these woods...
The first one had Afzelia body, Ovangkol neck, Bolivian Rosewood fingerboard and Kent Armstrong pickup. The second one had Padouk body, Ovangkol neck and Pau Ferro fingerboard with Bartolini pickup.
Even unplugged the Afzelia bodied bass had more high mids and mids while Padouk had more bass and high frequency (with an awesome slap tone, I must add).
