Bass Case Inquiry

My old Ibanez Roadstar II case that I have been using since the 80s has finally fallen apart. I have been looking for a hardshell case in the same shape but don't really see anything like it anywhere. Attached is a picture of my old case. Does anyone make something similar?

As a general comment, I get wanting a more form fitting case. As a French horn player, I played mellophone in marching band. Most mellophone cases are giant rectangles. My mellophone (a King from the 70s) has a form fitting case that takes up half the space of a newer case. Never considered the same might be nice for my bass guitars.

Just a suggestion, a quality gig bag may fit better and protect as well as a hard shell case. That technology has really advanced with better materials and construction. I feel perfectly secure with both my P bass and Jazz in soft shell cases these days.

+1 on this. Did not think about it when I suggested the SKB. I have a Gator Icon gig bag for my Mustang Bass. Probably not quite as durable as my hardshell cases (certainly not as durable as my flight cases), but for most uses*, it is plenty durable.

*Most uses = getting to/from gig in a car. Would not want to throw one of these in the back of a semi or on a flight, but OP probably was not doing that with the stock case either given how durable it looks.

100%, I love my gigbag that came with my Cort, and I'd trust it in a car backseat, on the bus, public transport, whatever, but if I was back on tour, throwing it in the back of the van along with the pedalboards, heads, cabs, drums, merch and everything else, I'd be fetching my flightcases out of storage again.

For the protection mainly, but also, having hardcases, especially rectangular ones, makes packing the van a lot easier than having to work with awkward shapes and sizes.
