bass customizer?

I'm having a lot of fun with SX basses at the moment. I'm really enjoying modding, and mixing and matching necks, bodies, pickups, pickguards, etc. When I imagine a fretboard type+body type+body color+pickguard color+pickup configuration+hardware combination, though, I have to do a Google image search in hopes of finding a picture of an existing bass in order to get a good look at it. If only there were an easier way.

I'm a hockey goalie, and most of the goalie gear manufacturers have customizer pages on their websites. The customizers let you choose what model of pads or gloves you want, and then you can tinker with the colors. Here's an example:

Does anyone know if something like this exists for basses? I went to the Fender custom shop website, but didn't see one.

Do you have Adobe Illustrator? I have a file that has a fender style P & Jazz bass, and you can change the colors and stuff. It's cool. PM me if you want the file, I'll email it to you. But you need the Adobe Illustrator software...

You can also use the freeware program Inkscape to open & use the Illustrator files. It's not as supercool and feature-laden as illustrator, but it works.

One more thing... is there any kind of "official picture request thread," a thread where someone could request a photo of, say, a white P-bass with a rosewood fretboard and red tortoise pickguard, and some kind soul would post or link to a photo?

That kind of thing might come in handy.

Haven't seen picture request thread per se, but a lot of friendly TB'ers posted pics and/or Photoshop images when I was trying to decide what color pickguard would look good with my refinish project last summer.

You could always start such a thread, but it would require users to check in fairly often and requests would probably get buried pretty quickly. The benefit and curse of a very active forum.

Alleluia!!!

I've been looking for this file for at least a week.
I'll apreciate if you could mail it to me.

Thanks!!
