How many basses can you fit on a 7 feet by 7 feet wall, displayed to be able to access all easily?

Go to GC with a tape measure.

If you just use the studs for the wall hangers you could get 10 displayed and ready for action. Adding more board across the wall lets you fill in the blanks and squeeze them together a bit so you could easily get you another 5.
Try using a full size cardboard cutout or other template and outline your best looking layout. Happy days.

That depends a lot on you.

I have 3 on a wall like that. I want them to breathe, leave a little room and hang from a good height.
Squeezed side by side, you could get up to 5, maybe even 6 and when you stagger them and use the whole height, you might get in two more.
