Double Bass Bass Duets

Hello

I was thinking for my end of the year recital that I would play a bass duet with my teacher. We did one together for the first semester recital and it was fun. Just wondered if anyone knew of a good, light hearted bass duet. I found one that might be fun called "Two Songs For A Fat Lady" on Lemur but I have never heard it. I'm going to ask my teacher about it also but and suggestions would be helpful

Thanks

If you go to the following web site, you can download 2 of my duets (free!) from my book, "Melodic Duets for Double Bass".One is Sprirtuals" and the other is the "Harmonic Shuffle". The are at the moderately difficult level compared to other 17 in the book.

You should try the Telemann Canonic Duos. Play them up an octave if you use the bass clef version or else it gets too muddy.
You can get the for free from

I suggest the first one, some might be unplayable.
Good luck

there is a published version of this on by the international company which was edited by stuart sankey, and is very playable.

Here are a couple of thoughts

Duettino Basso II, by Teppo Hauta-aho

4 Preludes, by Dimitri Shostakovich (for 2 Celli, double basses, bassoons, etc.):

If you peruse the Tuttu.co.uk website and do some searches you can find some good stuff. I think it is operated by David Heyes, but I also found another site of his RecitalMusic pulishing company but I can't find it right now.
