I'm having a great time with Noteable [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] with my bass. It as helped me transition to reading bass clef in record time.
Noteable randomly generates a range of notes based on user inputs, which can be used with any MIDI device. I'm using my bass, playing through a Sonuus Musicport http://www.sonuus.com/products_i2m_mp.html. The MIDI translation is really good now that I've tweaked the gate parameters.
I'd like to move on to the next level. Does anyone know of similar software that would let me input a score, then do the same quizzing that Noteable does with randomly generated notes? Or what about general MIDI-capable bass guitar tutorial software? I suppose one of the many piano-based tutorials would work, as long as it allows external MIDI input that is compatible with the Musicport.
