Bass ID Please

A friend of mine is working on this bass that has no identification what so ever of what it is. Can someone here please help.

I think it is some Japanese EB 1 knock off but not sure

Thats a beaut. Send er over. It's an EB-3 copy, not an EB-1. The neck binding looks very Ibanez. What's with the tape over the pup?

I am a novice but it looks like a modified Gibson or Epiphone SG bass. I say this because of the body style, controls, and neck pup. It looks like the stock bridge pup was replaced with a different pup. this is all I can determine from the pic. Just my opinion.

I vote Aria. Here's a lone pic from an old ebay auction. Notice the same offset inlays as well as other features. Very nice bass.

Another vote for Aria. The offset fretboard dots are the giveaway.
