bass isolating software?

not sure where to post this but does anybody know of a software or anything like that to which you can isolate the bass track of a song or at least make it louder or something?

There is no way of isolating the bass out of the mix without effecting the tone as there are more then just the bass that cover the frequencies in the mix. The guitar and the bass share some interval, same goes for the bass and kick drum and the keyboard can cover about anything. But you could try to boost the 200-800hz.

The closest I got to "bass isolating" was owning some folded 18" cabinets(Acoustic 301, Cerwin Vega Earthquakes, and clones of them I built). Those cabinets naturally did a good job of cutting everything except bass and kick out. I learned a LOT of stuff that way.

Now?
Open the mp3 file in Goldwave(http://www.goldwave.com/ ) and use the EQ's. If I want to get it REAL good, I'll do a 10 band parametric(tedious) re-EQ of the song. Works for me. It also works for a lot of other things.

Someone once suggested putting hearing protection headphones on will help take out all of the higher frequencies. I've noticed when working in the garage with the stereo cranked and ear protection on that the bass line is very well isolated. It might be difficult to record that way. :)
