Bass Matchmaker

I would like to find a bass that matches the following criteria.

-4 strings
-Less than $1000.00
-Toggle switch
-Active
-Punchy tone
-Smooth tone
-Growly tone
-Humbucking pickup (optional)
-Pickguard
-Block inlays (optional)
-Pickup and bridge cover (optional)

I play Rock, Jazz, Grunge, Blues, and Latin

I'm very open body shape wise

If there's a bass out there that meets this criteria i'd love to know. who knows. You might be the one that finds my new bass.

This should fulfill your requirements......The Fender Reggie Hamilton.

"The Reggie Hamilton Standard Jazz Bass® guitar is designed to the virtuoso R&B bassist’s exacting specs, with gorgeous tone, great looks and unbelievable feel. Features include an American Series Precision Bass® pickup, custom Noiseless™ Jazz Bass bridge pickup, active/passive switch, 20-fret maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, ’70s stamped open-gear tuners and Hipshot® Bass Xtender drop-D tuner on the E string. "

I had a Schecter C4 and it was lovely, active, beautifully put together, and a pleasure to play. I sold it because I didn't need an active bass.

I'd recommend the Schecter line - they give you active pickups, the versatility you need, and they sell for about half of your max price. They're every bit the equal of Fender products.
