Greetings: Considering getting a bass microphone for live playing plugged into an amp. Curious which are successfully being used.
Realize a preamp is necessary for phantom power/ 48v- Radial Bass Bug, AI Coda.
I have an Underwood PU and would blend.
Have a Bassbone, also AICoda, but also want to be able to use with different basses I own, and different amps.

No, but:
Depending on where you put your thumb you can knock it out of whack under the fingerboard if you don't pay attention. However, it also works really well under the tailpiece, too.

THe Remic Red is a mic to contend with. One has to tailor the amp for using a mic (good preamp>amp>well placed full spectrum cab) I use an MAS 16 on the floor. But what a fantastic clear representation and ease of use. The foam and cloth cord make no sound but the wedge does pull loose. I had long email exchanges with Thor about offering a version designed to leave attached to the bass with a shorter lead but nothing ever came of it. The mic was designed for big concert stages to be managed by sound designers whose job is to deal with the mics, and not to be strapped to a gigging bassists axe and plugged into an amp. We are a sub user. So you have to tailor your set up to favorable conditions for using a mic. That said, I have been using the Remic Red (by itself and mixed with a pickup) for a year and a half. Sometimes I get totally fed up with the occasional feedback squawk, when I accidentally aim the bass toward the amp, but through the MAS 16 on the floor this is minimized. (the MAS 46 sounds great with the Remic but is harder to manage the feedback)
Alll this to say whatever mic you get expect to plug it into a good mic preamp first and run it thru an cab that suits it, or stick with a pickup.

Micing with a bass amp

I asked this same question 5 years ago and found a stupidly cheap solution that has worked very well ever since. I ditched my pickup and have been using this mic exclusively ever since. Some people dismiss it just because of what it is, but many others have tried it and have also had success. I often get compliments from other musicians about how good my amplified bass sound is.

It's worth looking into.

Yep, that's why I generally put mine under the tailpiece. I guess it depends on the width of your basses fingerboard, but on my little 5/8th's Mirecourt I've had better luck mounting it on the tailpiece, which incidentally is what the diagram on the Remic's case shows.

I like it there too, it I get some wonderfully fat BASS placing it under the FB.
