Bass Neck Template

I just ordered a Fender style bass neck template and was wondering if it should be oversized. The seller claims it should be oversize so you can sand it down to make it fit well. Any opinions. It will definitely not fit a standard neck pocket without a lot of sanding.

A slight oversize is not a bad thing (Easier to take off vs. putting it back on), however, keep in mind....depending on what sort of finish is used, it will up the size slightly, or at least make it tighter...
