My first child will be 4 months in 12 days. The only band I'm in is our church's P&W band. I took a couple of weeks off (partially out of anger, partially due to the kiddo). Thankfully, the wife allows me to still be a part of the band by going to our once weekly 'practice' and playing Sunday mornings.

A big part of me wants another band, though.

Your still a young man. You don't realize it now but they grow up so fast, one day you will wonder what happened to their childhood. Stay with what your doing. Spend time with family, and enjoy the trip. There is a band waiting for you. They are just not ready, much as yourself. Best wishes.

You don't want to regret forsaking time with your first baby to pursue music. Your little lady and the kiddo will thank you, and you'll have a tighter-knit family. Just my thoughts :)

Last night I pulled out my old EHX Bass Micro Synth and my 20 month old daughter thought it was the coolest thing to move those sliders!!

The look on her face was great when she finally found a truly usable setting.
I wish I had a third hand to take pictures, because once I stopped playing she would just pout.

Her 4 year old brother came in and dimed everything and made it unusable. He is NOT the musical one (takes after his mama), my baby girl definitely is. She just gets it.
