Bass String Vibration Pattern

I shoot the free jazz concerts held in my town and have found that at a 1/250-1/320th shutter speed you can record string vibsrations on the bass instruments. This one really shows the pattern along the string length very clearly.

That is cool. Back when TV's had big tubes for the viewing screen, I could see the strings vibration pattern if I held the bass up in front of the TV. It doesn't work with modern flat screens though.
