bass string's

I have been playing bass for years now, most of the band's i have played for have been from jazz , hard rock to even death metal and one of the thing's i struggle with is finding the right string's. So my question is does any one know of a brand of bass string's that are bright enough to cut through but can also handle lower tunings ( such as drop d , drop c ect...ect...) please get back to me thank you

It really depends on the tone you are after.

Getting strings that will handle lower tunings is no problem once we can figure out the type of strings you are after... To get something that can handle Drop D and Drop C will have to be a heavier set of strings which may or may not handle E-Standard tuning if you want to go that way...

What do you use now (if you know) and what do you want different. Is it just the feel of the string you want different, or tone and playability?

It's all a matter of finding strings that you like then getting the right gauges. Unfortunately, nobody can pick out what you'll like but you.

BTW, plurals don't get apostrophes ;)
