Guess the OP needs to clarify whether he means compression or microlooping a note.

I'd like to amend my post about the EHX Freeze. It's a great pedal for hold a note (and letting you play over it). But if you can get this mod it's very much worth it. I don't have the extender switch, but I have the Soft touch foot switch and its great. I do a lot of musical theater pit work and the long notes (probably intended for a bowed bass) work fine with this. Even works great to use as a nice taper on the end of note. Highly reccommended. (BTW there are several pages of EHX Freeze pedals on Reverb, but not many with the soft touch switch)
