Bass Tone on Satriani Song "ECHO"

Hey All,

Was listening to Satriani's "Surfing With The Alien" today and was thinking how great the bass tone is on the song "Echo". Joe played bass on that album. Anyone have any opinions on the gear he used, or how to cop that tone? Sounds very much like Eddie Jackson's early QR tone, which makes me think Spector, but I/D/K.

Any thoughts?

Joe used cobbled-together Kramer guitars during that time, so I wouldn't be surprised if he used a similar bass for that album.
