Bass weights?

What is considered a HEAVY bass

and what would be considered a light one


in terms of weight, not sound

AVerage basses are in the 8-9 pound range. Anything over 10 is generally considered heavy. I have a 13 pound 1978 Rickenbacker 3001 that I affectionately refer to as "The Coffee Table".


Of course I an just a simple 4 string guy - all those multi string guys out there may have a different answer for you...

I was really curious. I know T-40s are considered heavy, so how heavy are they? 15 pounds or more?

My T-14 was right at 14.
