Bassballs: How does it work with "very active" basses?

Hello to everyone.

Since coming Xmas, my girlfriend asks me what kind of gift I desire.
Considering that I don't want she wastes her money (giving me something expensive and useless), I think that an EHX Bassballs might be a good present; but I can't try it...

The most important question:
- how does the BassBalls work with "very active" basses (as ErnieBall MusicMan Sterling and Yamaha BB NE2) with the volume pot at maximum level?

Some others doubts:
- Nano, USA and Russian version are all True Bypass?
- Which is the best sounding version among Nano, USA and Russian (with "very active" basses)?

Bassballs uses a sensitivity knob, so the worst issue an active bass would cause would be less useful range of this knob, which could be compensated for by adjusting the volume knob

as far as I can tell there's no significant difference between the various Bassballs versions, unlike the muffs

I've had the USA (reissue) and Nano versions, they both sound the same. I think the Nano is true bypass, the others I'm not sure but I had no major tone-suck on the USA model. I just got the Nano because it was smaller and sounded the same.

There is no issue with high-output or active basses (I use a Stingray and a Thumb bass through mine), there's plenty of range on the sensitivity control.

the nano is the only true bypass one and yes it can be easily tweaked to sound great with active basses
