Rainy season is approaching so I’m switching over to this for a bit. Some day I’ll even put a rear mudguard on.
I’ve been told the red doesn’t belong on the green bike, but hey, some people don’t like tort. And this frame is from 1989 I think, so it can wear what it wants.

I'm sorry man, it's been a couple days, bit did your seal that bike off somehow or are you just running it as is until the wheels fall off? I think it's great either way, I'm just curious.
It’s sort of protected with an occasional BLO rub down. I rescued it from the trash, the bottom bracket was frozen and the headset. One day I’ll put those wheels on another frame, but in the meantime it’s my beater for messing around on the canal and levee roads and for riding when I forget that it’s been a few decades since I was a teen.

Good thing the Air BnB has a hose ;-)

The Coos Bay, Whiskey Run trail system is pretty awesome. We rode different routes each of three days and repeated only 2 segments, climbing what we had descended the day prior. There are at least three more loops and we never rode a black segment. The blue segments definately had my full, undevided attention ;-)

To misquote Ahnold... We'll be back!

Nice pics, I’ve got some family out that way. I’ll have to remember these areas. Thanks

Anybody familiar with the area of Red River NM (Taos ski valley, Wheeler Peak)?
I’m gonna be on tour for a couple of weeks with a lot of one nighters in various states which is going to make it very difficult to ride and not possible to bring a bike , however we end with five nights in Red River New Mexico and according to this map it looks like it could be in the area of some great mountain biking and I will have daytime hours free to see if I can maybe rent a bike for the week. Planning to bring everything but my bike with that hope. any help greatly appreciated!

Get the Trailforks app!

Looks like a well developed trail network to the east of Taos at Angelfire. Definately some riding around Taos itself. I would look to the local shops in Taos for advice.

Thanks! I actually forgot about that app. Definitely planned to call some shops, nothing like finding a local (thought maybe I’d get lucky here). Appreciate it!

Just went out to a park closeish to the next town East of Kingston today. It wasn't particularly big, there's a museum of woodworking that was closed today. There's also a fenced off dog park, and the St Lawrence River.

The ride there sucked, there are a lot of hills and there was a headwind beating all of my momentum out of me the whole time. Embrace the suck.

Here's a couple pictures of the border between the US of eh, and the Great White North.
