Basses similar to the Yamaha BB1024x

I really like Tetsuo Sakurai's tone and I noticed he uses a bb5000. I want to get a bb1024x beacuse it seems like it would deliver a similar tone. However, these are mostly sold out or about $1000 used. For a similar price or less, what are some comparable pj's?

Have you tried a BB2000? Best slap tone of all IMO. Good luck.

I found a bb2000 but it's beat to crap and has no strap buttons. The bridge needs a replacement also.it would be the cheapest bb on the market but it needs some serious fixing

How much different is the bb2000 to the bb1000ma?
The main differences I can see are:

1) Bolt-on vs neck-through construction. BB1000MA is bolt-on. BB2000 is neck-through. I've never played a BB1000MA, but I can say from first-hand experience that the neck-through on the BB2000 contributes to very warm, smooth, even tone with excellent sustain.

2) BB2000 is top tier MIJ. BB1000MA is more entry/mid-level and made in MIT (I think).
