My band End Of Eternity has recently (i.e. about 3 hours ago) come up on a vacancy for a bassist. In terms of our influences, we are talking Evergrey, Meshuggah, Cynic, Nevermore, as well as many others 
Ideally, we'd be looking for someone who can play fretted and fretless, and we all use 7 string guitars, so unless you can do some sexy harmonisation, then it'll either be 5/6 string material, or downtuned 4 (unless of course you like MOAR strings, then COME ON IN 
). However we dont judge on gear, just assume you wont be playing an Encore P Bass through a practice amp 
If you are Steve DiGiorgio/Sean Malone/Troy Tipton/Jeroen Paul Thesseling incarnate then that would be amazing, but just anyone who can deal with time signature changes, riffing, and having their own ideas to bring to the table, then we are game
