Bassists who double on keyboards

Thanks. These next few weeks should be interesting. I'm not really a spring chicken, just turned 31, but jazz does take a little getting used to.

My musical progression was: "grunge" (I was a teenager in the 90's)>classic rock>blues>funk/soul> jazz, and classical on the side.

I haven't abandoned my old tastes for new ones, just expanded them. I try to keep an open mind.

Good luck to you! I've been moving more and more into keys over the past several years, and tomorrow is my first-ever gig filling in for a keyboard player! Wish me luck... he's a pro too (he plays in a touring version of The Guess Who where he replaces Burton Cummings!) so I have some BIG shoes to fill ... I'm actually pretty nervous.

I tend to not take my own advice.. but I would play with your gear at home. Not just the keyboard, but the amplification.
Are you reading music?
Music stand, light, something to hold the music in place if it gets windy, if outdoors.
I have even brought a fan in summer, or a propane heater if cold!
How many different sounds are you using?
Go over that. Get the presets, set as best you can at home.
Arrive early to gig. Breath deeply, it will all be over in a flash!
Good luck.
