I was wondering if the preamp that comes with the pickup is the one with 3 or 4 knobs.

Yeah but there is one version with stacked pots and one with 4 seperate pots, the 3m3 and the 3m4, I'm trying to figure out which one comes with because I like having my output jack on the front.

You're right -- might be best to give Music123 a call or shoot them an email.

That part number (SMB-4DS) comes with the 3-Knob tone circuit. SD only packages the 4-knob circuit with the 5-String pickup (SMB-5S). Both those P/N's are also ceramic magnet pickups.

If you want the 4-knob or want the Alnico magnet version of the 4-string pickup you need to buy the pickup and tone circuits separately.
