Basson Fiasco

Well I just wanted to sound off(Vent) a bit ...I bought a Basson 410 back in 07 from Musicians Friend and about a month in the screws that hold the wheels on pulled out of the bottom of the cab..Musicians Friend told me that it was under warranty through Basson..So I called Shaun at Basson explained my problem and he said "Theres's No Way" I told him 'Way" he wouldnt do squat about it said it would cost him to much to have it shipped and if I wanted to pay then he would look into it:rollno: then proceeded to tell me to stuff toothpicks and glue in the holes and start over:hmm:...

Well I couldnt see spending another 150 bucks to ship it so I tried his suggestion but that didnt last so I just drilled the holes all the way through and put in bolts with nuts..This worked til last month and then the whole corner of the bottom of the cab is now cracked and about to come apart..These cabs should be built like tanks but mine wasnt!!!

Well I just found out that Basson went out of business but I had bought the Gold Warranty from MF...but now they tell me the cab had a 1 year warranty +their 2 yr and it ran out last april, and I have none now..

But after doing some research I have found on a few sights that still list the cabinets including the used B210 and B810's MF has on their sights that they carry a 5 year warranty so if thats the case shouldn't Musicians Friend pick up and cover thier product even know Basson has went belly up???...Does anyone know for sure if Basson carried a 5 year or not? I have moved since I bought the cab and all but the packing list has been lost but they have it on file in the archives they say???

I am going back to my TX810 for now until I can get this resolved (that I have had since 97 and has been loaded and unloaded a million times not to mention dropped banged and beat up and still sounds great and cab is still in good shape)

Any help would be appreciated

Wow, that sucks. If you're unhappy with or have issues with a gear purchase, it's always best (& kinda necessary) to try to get the problem resolved with the company that actually sold you the merchandise. Good luck.

I called this morning and talked to Musicians Friend and they helped me get in touch with the warranty company(Thanks Ryan) GOOD NEWS they extended it to a 3 year plan so I am covered and they are sending me a shipping label to send it in..They say they are gonna repair it I am not real sure how they will do this being the cab needs a whole new bottom and will have to tear the cab apart..YIKES!! but if it cant be fixed they will send me a gift card to spend at MF or GC....So I am glad I didnt give up and thanks so much to Justin for offering to help It is appreciated 100 times over.....It guess it sometimes pays to vent...lol....Have A Merry Christmas
