Battery compartment on stingray special

Duracell 9v battery changed their size and now doesn't work with the Stingray Special.

I've heard on several occasions that Duracell doesn't adhere to the 'standard', there's also one or two items in my household that don't (easily) take Duracells, while all other 9v 'blocks' will fit.

Have you had the same issue with Energizers?

I use both Energizers and Duracells. I can tell no difference in battery life.

Also, I'm not having size issues with either in my Special battery box.

Not long after I got my Lull, I had that battery box installed in it. Not had any problems with it, either.

I haven't had the chance to get other batteries yet. The old ones seem to still be okish, so at least I can play.

It can go the other way as well. 9v batteries can swell. I've seen it happen with all brands, but I've never discovered why it happens. I had a similar issue on my Sterling, but so far my special is fine (it's still on its first set of batteries).
