Double Bass BB800 with external 2-channel pre or older Coda

Have some pickups and a contact mic coming and am wondering whether to run it through my EB rig which is a BB800 and matching Quilter 1 or 2 2x10s or purchase an older Coda combo. Last time I used a pickup through my BB800 was a couple years ago and it sounded ok, I remember I did have to crank the master and gain though and it was direct in through a KNA DB-1, didn’t have a mic to blend with. I am intrigued by the features of the Coda - esp to pretty much use as a coffe house type of gig PA in addition to blending a mix and pickup without any external hardware.

Also factoring in costs, I’d spend about $800 on a Coda and around $500 for an external2-channel pre (looking at the Radial PZ-pro) Coda seems worth it. Thoughts?
