I know more about how a tube amp works than about brands and types of tubes and such. I want to replace the GT 12AX7 in my BBE BMAX-T preamp, with a 12au7. I have heard a JAN-Philips 5751 works well. Suggestions?

I bought a groove tubes mullard-reissue 5751. Does anyone know how much of a gain difference there will be between this and the GT 12ax7? Wish I could just try it...
Heh...my speakers are at my rehearsal space...I live just over an hour away, just got back today.
