Why did the psychotic lady that gets paid to answer and talk on the phone all day just give me an attitude because I didn't answer the phone ?

No, I mean the phone was ringing and she didn't pick it up. So neither did I...I don't hear the telephone in my universe.
So, she heard the phone ring and didn't pick it up. Then she looked over at you like you should pick it up. You don't pick it up, and she gets mad. Sounds like love to me.
She totally wants you, man.
Or she's a lazy prick who doesn't understand the concept of responsibility or, more specifically, HER responsibility.

I work with someone like that, although her job is not strictly to answer the phones. We share the phone answering duties, but she always waits for me to answer and then acts like she just missed it.
Just once, I am going to reach for the phone when it rings but pick up my direct line and call someone else. That way when my co-worker grabs her headset, she will have answered the phone!
