Bearded Hello World!

Hello Fellow Bass Players! My name is Łukasz and I'm from Kraków, Poland.

Profesionally I'm a game programmer (currently at CD Projekt RED, worked on "The Witcher: Wild Hunt" series and currently on "Cyberpunk 2077").

Outside of my day job I enjoy playing and creating music. Currently I'm not playing in any band, in my past I played in a couple of them. Some of them were local and really small (Immersion, Naqurve, Noria), some of them actually went out touring Europe (Netherfell) or playing Wacken (winning 5-th place in Wacken Metal Battle) or playing at polish biggest festival Pol'and'Rock (previously known as Woodstock) (Vane). I also had a chance to compose music for one show in theater ("Behanding in Spokane" played in local Teatr Barakah).

Even though I'm playing bass many years I don't consider myself an expert. I always see myself as a noobie who is just lucky enough to gain some skills from other experienced players or people in the industry.

I always struggle with perfectionism and procrastinate a lot, afraid to do something unless it's perfect. So to fight with that, I just created my music channel on YouTube. It's my place where I don't edit my music at all, sometimes it's in sync with click, sometimes it's not. It's definitely not perfect but that's not my goal. Now I'm aiming for "good enough".

So you're one of the guys I can blame for spending so many many happy hours playing The Witcher?
That was a truly awesome game, fantastic writing, and one of the best-realised game-worlds I've ever explored (and believe me, I've been in a lot of them!)
Cyberpunk looks interesting too...not my usual game style (I'm currently back playing through Lord Of The Rings Online again) but if CD Projekt are involved I'm confident it'll be worth a shot.

Dinosaurs lasted for a couple of hundred million years... Us humans have a few thousand under our belts. Electric bass players - less than 70 years.

I believe the kids are calling those skullets or ben franklins these days. True mullets still have hair on the top of the head. Either way I dig the dreaded skullet look.

Work in Dublin Airport, pushing and towing aircraft.
Gaming is my second hobby, close behind bassplaying.

I am constantly in awe of the work you devs do, creating entire worlds out of almost nothing, from landscapes to sound to people to stories.
I know, with The Witcher, you guys had some great books to work from, and just like the Lord Of The Rings Online folks, you've done a truly amazing job.

Sounds like an interesting job. How are you working right now, when most flights are cancelled (or all of them?)?

Gaming is my second hobby, close behind bassplaying.

In my case it was very similar. My first lifelong passion were games and making them, close second was playing music.

I am constantly in awe of the work you devs do, creating entire worlds out of almost nothing, from landscapes to sound to people to stories.

I think this is the reason why so many people from gamedev are also playing in bands or just playing instruments. It's the love to create something out of nothing. Also, thank you Sir !

I'm actually not!
Temporary lay-off until things get a bit busier, my company's only handling about 10% of what we'd normally be doing, and that's some cargo flights with specialised training I'm out of date on.
