Beatles - I Want You (She's So Heavy)

Well this is a curious song isn't it? It is easily my favorite Beatles song, and it's one of my favorite works by Paul. Supposedly he is playing his Hofner in this, but I can't confirm that.

Anywho, is there anyone who knows this song? How do you play it, as Paul made it, or do you improvise? The song is basically a big jam so I figured any bassist trying to play it has to improvise. The things I'm most interested in are the random flurries of staccato notes played high up the board. He plays them during the entire song, but if you listen, you'll hear them during the Outro extensively.

I don't want to bother someone about making a whole tab for this song, that's nigh impossible (there's a lot of notes that are barely audible at all, and I can't find a bass-only mix of the song to discern them). But if there's some basic format to those bass runs, I would like to know what it is.

You can get all their basslines on "The Beatles-The complete scores" on Amazon. I've had a few xeroxed by friends and they're pretty spot-on in the accuracy to the recording dept. Only negative of that book is that it weighs a lot and you need cokebottle glasses to read the notes. Hope this helps??

If I remember correctly, there are about 3 or 4 different recordings of this song floating around, and each one is significantly different. I do remember reading that each version was nothing more than a jam, and one version has Mal Evans and Neil Aspinall doing backing vocals.
