Beginner Version to Ain't It Fun by Paramore for 4 string??

The Fender Play app has exactly what you're looking for (Invalid Link Removed). I don't know if the tab is out there for free anywhere, but the app offers a free trial. I went through it when I was getting back into playing and it was a pretty easy line, just three notes in the verse A to D Flat to E with a staccato picking pattern; two notes, A to D Flat in the pre-chorus with a similar pattern; and the same A to D Flat to E in the chorus with a more open picking technique.

Your standard tuning on your 4-string is EADG. Lower the pitch of each string.

E to C#
A to F#
D to B
G to E

Then follow the tabs in that first video. Enjoy!

I would only detune the E string to C# NOT all 4 strings… or install a detuner to quickly drop the E string a step and 1/2. The rest of the tune is standard notes on a 4. I only play the C# and E on the B of my five. But can’t imagine not playing on a 5 would sound good.

I've been playing this in a cover band using a 5-string. The lowest note you need to hit is the C# on the B string. It's a great funky bass line.

On a 4-string, I suggest tuning the E string down to C# and don't change the tuning of the other strings. 95% of the notes you need to hit are C#, E, and A anyways :D

I use both pickups favoring the bridge pup just a bit to give it some growl. I don't use a pick.

Hi,
I am having a hard time learning Ain't It Fun by Paramore. I don't have a 5 string and I can't tell if the strings are re-tuned. I'd like to simplify it for now. Does anyone have suggestions? When I go onto YouTube I find mostly 5 string versions.
Thank you

the Songsterr app has the tab, but you do have to pay for the app

Make sure your drummer can play this song. I played this song on a one off and the drummer was way in over his head. Song sounded terrible, which is a shame because it’s probably one of Paramore’s best songs.
