does anybody have any experience with behringer bxl900(a) combo bass amp? are they any good, reliability & performance-wise? does the eq effect the distortion channel? (i noticed that the smaller amp, bxl450, only uses the eq on the clean channel...i'm just using it for practice and will probably use it as a reg guitar amp as well

Hi, you are going to get it for saying the B word... lol...
One time at a night club I was offered to use this instead of a smaller Peavey bass amp. I tried the amp and could not get the amp to sound better than a fart. It had absolutely no definition, and sounded very muddy.
I took the smaller Peavey combo, and plugged it in... voila... there was that midrange punch I needed!
Try it out, it may work for you. Also by the way, the Behringer bass combos are made out of all particleboard, and they weigh a TON! You might find it suits your needs though... good luck!

I got one of these about a year ago, super cheap. I love to play this amp. Ive played many, many others and it has the best low end sound. It probably will not get loud enough to gig with, maybe something small and the drummer plays light. I know it gets a bad rap but it makes the sound I like. Deep and rich. Most amps sound too twangy for me. I like a warm, soft, low sound you feel from your feet and goes inside you . The distortion sucks and the octave thing sucks but the sound I play with makes up for that. You have to put a day or so into tuning it right.
