Double Bass Behringer large diaphram mics?

Got any thoughts on how it might work? Pricing is *real* good at ~$100, and it comes with shock mount, windscreen and blow molded case...

It's my understanding that they convert sound waves to electronic impulses which are then re converted to sounds waves after being amplified.

Siriusly, work for what? I'm not sure that studio mics will stand up to the same sort of banging around that live reinforcement mics will. But that's just baseless supposition on my part.

I use a large diaphragm condenser mic, the Sennheisser MD409. I like the way it sounds.
