Berg AE Vs HS - Difference??

Hi folks,

I am a bit confused with these two offerings from Bergantino...

Besides the fact that the AE is Neodymium, what would differentiate the AE410 from the HS410?

What would make you choose one instead of the other?

Is one more hi-fi sounding and the other more aggressive?

Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

: )

Although I searched in different threads, I didn't find any conclusive final word on this either.
I read somewhere, that my Sadowsky SA410 cab is very similar to one of the Bergs 410, but I don't remeber which one.....

So I am very interested in this comparison

Both are great. They are the same size, with the AE being about 20 pounds lighter due to the Neo drivers and thinner wood.

The difference in tone is somewhat similar to most Neo versus Ceramic drivers within a given brand family. The HS410 is a bit smoother/mellower in the upper mids than the AE410, and has a touch more low mid presence. The primary difference I hear is the AE410 being a bit more growly and aggressive in that upper mid/lower treble area. Volume and low end are about the same.

To oversimplify, assuming weight doesn't matter to you, if you like a smoother, warmer tone, and are more into a 'classic rock' type vibe, the HS410 is great. If you want a bit more aggressive grind (I call the AE410 the 'Flea' cab), then the AE410 might have the advantage.

IMO and IME.
