Bergantino HDN210 as a practice cab/small show rig?

Hey all,

I'm looking to get a smaller cab for my rig that can handle lighter duties for when my Fearless F212 is overkill.

I was doing research into picking up a Barefaced Big Baby but a Bergantino HDN210 just came up for sale locally for around $450.

Any opinions on the HDN210 cab? Should I save my money for the Barefaced?

My current amp stable is an Orange AD200b, Peavey Alphabass and a Tonemaster Pro with a Crest Prolite 2.0 DSP

I can't speak to the HDN, but I previously owned the HD210 and it is the best sounding cab I've ever owned. I foolishly sold it. For practice, studio work, and lower volume gigs it was spectacular. I'm assuming the HDN will be similar.

I'm a fan of the Barefaced Big Baby, but that looks like a great cab at a great price. Nobody would call you silly for snatching that up.

Yup, get it. The HDN210 absolutely slaps My rig is modular, consisting of 2x CN112s and 2x CN210s and depending on the size of venue I bring any combination of 1 to all 4 of those cabs. The HDN210 is the spiritual successor of the CN210 and I've been told it is very similar. I guarantee you will not be disappointed with that cab, and that is an absolutely SCREAMING deal. I'd snag it for double the price if I was in your position.

AFAIK, The Sensitivity of the Bergantino is 99dB 2.83V/1m It's an 8 ohms cab so the 1W rating is the same.

The F212 woofers are 3012LF. One driver has a sensitivity rating of 95.5dB 1W/1m. So a pair should be about 98dB 1W/1m. This is a 4 ohm cab.

Tube amps usually make the same power as long as they see the expected loud. Since the Orange has a 4 ohm and 8 ohm output, it should make the same power into both cabs. The Bergantino may prove to be slightly louder.

Solid State amps typically make more power as the impedance goes down. Be careful to not overpower the Bergantino. The F212 should be louder when driven with sufficient power.

I have the Berg CN112 and 210, this is the neo model that preceded the HDN line. The CN210 is a great cab that has served me well,

Buy it! Buy it now! Thats a great price and a great cab. Efficient, light, and a way bigger sound than you expect. I love mine!

Snagged it yesterday and played it at practice with my modeling rig. It held up great! I think this will fill the hole I've been gas-ing over perfectly

My group plays an "outdoor" restaurant (with gazebo) for a couple of years. My go-to cab is a Shuttle 2x10. Pick it up with one hand, but fat, full, and articulate. And plenty of volume. I did use a pair of Berg 1x12's for a few years, but I have never personally seen the 2x10. The Bergie should work out very well for you.

The HDN 210 pairs really well with the HDN 112 if you feel you need a little more. The legendary 322 combination. I use the modular approach although I just need one cab for most gigs , it's nice to have both.
