Bergantino Quality

I can tell you this from what experience I have with them ...the Nv610 is a sealed cabinet, it does the old school tone like there is no tomorrow, it's very easy to move around and load, and it sounds good with just about any high quality head you might use with it, I believe the sound/tone goals were engineered for that classic defined old school thump .... IMHO

The other Berg cabinet I have is a HS410 ( which is no longer made, but does show up used every so often ), I really like this cabinet, it has a nice voicing to it ... you can go from modern slapping to old school thump , it has a nice tweeter in it, that not too harsh .... it can sound very similar to the NV610 if you turn the tweeter off .... I believe the newer equivalent is the HD410 ... again this cabinet sounds good with all the bass-heads I have ( TH500, ThunderFunk 550B, Fender Bassman 1200 Pro, Traynor YBA-3, Crate BT-350 ) ... I believe most of the Berg cabinets are pretty efficient, meaning they really don't need a bunch of power to drive them to very loud levels, but the can handle some high power levels ( nv610-750 watts RMS .. HS410-800 watts RMS ) this is my non-technical view of the what I have ... as to the technical aspects of the Berg cabs, other will chime in, as a side note the berg cabinets will hold there value on the resale market

I have rather limited experience with Berg cabs but I have had quite a bit of experience with others. Specifically, 410's. SWR, EDEN, Ampeg, GK, Mesa, Markbass, and Tecamp.

I recently bought a Bergantino AE410 here on TB and the one thing I've noticed that seperates it from the others is it's very smooth top end. The tweeter adjustment seems to be very effective and the top seems to never get harsh like I've found with my beloved Eden 410XLT and SWR Golliath when the horn is turned up. I've found various useful sounds throughout the entire tweeter adjustment range whereas with the other cabs I've tried I usually only find one or two sweet spots where I like the tweeter level.

The form factor is also super when compared to some of the other manufacturers. It's not overly large or heavy yet has excellent efficiency and frequency response.

Bergantino uses the "top/best quality" of componets and construction.........as does MANY other bass cabinet manufacturers.


Difference will be in the x-max requested by Berg for their custom Eminence drivers, x-over that was used, and the way Berg's choice of cabinet tuning allow those componets to reproduce the bass sound.

Just as with any manufacturer's bass cabinet, your ears may....or may not like what they hear.

With any piece of gear your unfamiliar with, if at all possible, try before you buy.

Same here. The Berg cabs sound punchy and present without being hyped up on the top end. Jim's cabs are the ONLY tweeter loaded cabs I still use (recently got a pair of Baer ML112's, love these too).

I have a no longer made HT322
It weighs 100 lbs and is very hard to move
Last week it got away from me and dented my new car
I have 3 other cabinets yet I brought the Berg last night to play in a large room
They sound much more refined than the store bougt cabinets I'vre tried.
Have not tried the fearfulls or the Thunderchild which will be the only other thing on the try list and that would be because of weight

I got distracted while loading my 410 in my SportWagon once, hurt my back BAD; lasted a couple weeks!

I bought my AE410 for it's portability! 62 lbs and not very deep mean that I can actually one hand it on occasions and easily move it with two hands. Bergantino sound and no pain!! You should try it.

Oh I would, but ever since Mr. B invested heavily in pharmacutical pain meds, they are disco'd.

They do. And they are heavy but..only about 8 pounds more than a Goliath 410, the same weight as an Eden 410 xlt, the same weight as an Aguilar 410 only slightly heavier than the Ampeg big boy 410....and only about 20 pounds more than the lightest of the non-neo comparables.

That extra grunt buys a whole lotta tone. IMHO and I pride myself on being lazy. I don't lift an ounce I don't value.

I'm foaming at the mouth to get rid of my 322 in favor of weight but, I haven't found a comparable yet.

YA HEAR ME JIM BERGANTINO!?

make that puppy in Neo..you know you can...you know you want to....
