Best 4x12 for the money

You may say whatever you like, but I personally found that post a little misleading. For one, you quote someone else saying that the mesa 4x12 is good, and then use your experience with a mesa guitar 4x12 as evidence to support this claim. But, although one might assume that using the word "rectifier" implies a guitar product, a reader may not be aware of this fact. You also said "a band member" and not specifically a guitarist which increases the chances of the statement being misinterpreted.

Now I understand the premise you suggest that because the guitar 4x12 you heard was loud, and this impressed you, that this would reflect upon all products under said brand. However, it would be foolish to assume that your perception of this mesa guitar cab's loudness bears any indication of the quality of their bass cabinet, where the only similarities are the number of drivers that also happen to be the same size, and perhaps the wood used in it's construction.

I'm not slagging on Mesa, they're a great company and I've had positive experiences with their bass 4x12, I just don't think that the comparison to another product of theirs which employs different construction, dimensions and drivers can be used as a valid testimony.

Since when is saying a certain company makes a good product misleading? Where does "you get what you pay for" have "4x12" in it. I was referring to the company. And I find it a little insulting that you assume I judge a product simply on its loudness. I specifically left out details because they had nothing to do with a bass cabinet. That is what you ultimately wanted, isn't it? I'm sure you have more important things to do than scrutinize similar posts all day.

I sweated over the choice between the Mesa PH600 212 and the GK Neo 212-II for use with a GK 700RB-II.

For me it came down to weight (78 Lb Mesa; 51 Lb GK) and price (~500 GK; 749 Mesa).

The Mesa was "nicer" but the sound difference was not as big as those other two parameters.

If I didn't have a wife and DID have a roadie, I'd have gone with Mesa.

I enjoy my Schroeder BMF 412. I haven't played other 412's to compare it to, but I'm happy the sound I get from it.

Also, it weights 65lbs. Sixty. Five. Pounds.

I emailed Don at LDS and he said they could make me a 1200 watt Neo 4x12 for $680, I assume there would be like $100 in shipping, but for a custom built cab that seems like a dang good price.

I brought this cab home today and have never heard anything so freakin good! I didn't compare it to any other brand of 212 but it sounded so good, there was no way I was not going to buy it!

The Aggie is a great cab too. It's pretty hard to go wrong with a newer 412 cab.

I think the Bergantino NV412 should be thrown in this mix. MSRP $1199.

Right now the cheapest 412 I can find is the GK Neo 412, its $900.

Aggie and Mesa make a 412, but there pretty spendy. Are there any others out there that are good and not to expensive.

Sounds like the LDS is winning at $680 + shipping?
