So at and older age than I am willing to admit I seem to be getting back into the music biz. The guys I will be working with all use Cubase to write and record. They will be sending me files so I can add bass lines. I will also be recording song ideas to share with then. I purchesd a Focusrite Scarlet Solo and dowloaded Cubase Elements. I have a decent set of Audio Technica headphones that will work for now and will be looking into near field monitors. Are Yamaha HS series still good to go?
I'm a stone cold newb with DAW's and feeling a bit overwhelmed. I need a good easy to follow guide to get me started on the process. I'm looking at VST plugins and don't really know much about what's out there. I love Darkglass pedals so I figure that would be a good place to start. I'm sure there is a free bass amp VST that emulates all the current hotness? I want a simple drum machine plugin with a good rock sound and some preloaded beats I can edit.
I would appreciate links to a good beginner tutorial and any helpful advice and suggestions. Thanks!
