best electric razor?

I've tried two or three Norelcos and never got on with them; by the time they cut the whiskers I've rubbed my face till it's sore. I originally took up electics to avoid the mess at the sink; but then after not being pleased with the electrics (and maybe I should have tried more varieties) I figured out that the solution to sink mess was to shave in the shower. I've been doing that for near on 30 years now, no sink mess! Any young guy who were to ask (none will) I'd recommend shaving in the shower.

My Braun doesn't shave anywhere near as smoothly as a blade, but it is a lot more convenient.
If I hit it right before I head out the door to a gig, it's close enough.
It's also going to depend on what kind of beard you've got. Mine grows slowly enough that I still look OK 12-18 hours after a shave. Not one of those guys that an hour after they shave they need a shave.

I bought me a Braun MobileShave M-60 after using a Braun Syncro 7526 for years.
The M-60 was $20 from our local department store and I quite like it. It won't shave a beard or cut down heavy growth, it's not made/designed for that kind of shaving. Also, I have light facial hair, meaning I can go 2-3 days without shaving and you'd barely know. I like that it runs on two AA batteries and I can clean it off in my sink quickly with running water. It's small and compact, another feature I like since we live in a tiny home, and there's even a cleaning tool that fits into the handle. When I use it regularly, it keeps my skin smooth with little to no stubble.
I keep it on my desk (I work from home) and I use it at least once a day. I almost find the time or two a day I use to be therapeutic in that it forces me to take a break for a few minutes. It's perfect for me.

Remington, hands down. No joke, my best friends mom, Karen (RIP), bought me a Remington when I went into the military. I've tried to get a replacement for it all these years. It's still the best I have and have ever had. Numerous Norelcos have dropped dead. In fact, I use the Remington to shave my head... a tough ask of any razor I'm sure you'll agree. It sounds like a wood chipper, but man, it's a beast. I have a newish Norelco in the drawer next to it. It's clutter at this point.

I used Braun shavers for years, but switched to Panasonic a while back. They work better for me.

Ha, that's what I did after my third Braun konked out on me. My first one was made in Austria (IICR), and lasted 10 years. A good product with some heft to it. My subsequent Brauns were made "elsewhere", never shaved as good as the first one, then died within a couple years each.

Fed up with the expense and disappointments from Braun, I took advice from a friend and bought a little Panasonic travel shaver. Shaves great, runs on two AA batteries that last a surprisingly long time, and is still going strong for 10+ years now. Paid less that $30 for it. That's value! Braun, schmaun.
