Best lightweight 2x12 for Aguilar DB750?

I'm considering getting a lightweight (neo) 2x12 cab (or two of them). I have an Aguilar DB750 & a GK MB fusion 800 (but considering switching to a class D that goes down to 2ohm). Was looking into the Aguilar SL212 but was sorry to read that it's only 500 watts... I'd get a 4ohm cab at first and then maybe get a second one down the road. The DB750 is 750 watts @4ohm & 975 watts @ 2ohm... the MB fusion 800 is 800 @ 4ohm.

Just looking for a cab(s) that will be good matches for the heads I have so I can get the most out of them... weight is also an issue due to a back injury. Wouldn't really go over 45/50 lbs. Any suggestions? What are ya'll using for these heads?

I use two Aguilar DB112 NT’s in this situation. Together that’s a 600watt rating. I’ve never had to push these hard enough to go louder than that. Since your amp is stable at 2ohms, you could also have the option of using three of these for a 2.6 ohm load.

The big advantage to the individual cabs is the packing and schlepping is easier.

Aguilar SL212 should be quite fine in meeting what you are actually looking for. I would not worry about it handling only 500W, as that is most probably continuous power handling and that is something you will not even get close most of the time. Aguilar speakers are also quite efficient, IME, and they can get really loud. I would buy the 8-ohm version initially and at a later stage go for the second one, or a third one even later, if needed...

Grab you a Mesa Subway amp if you need 2 ohm stability.

I totally get it, but to my ears....a DB750 on a "light" cab sounds a lot like a double bacon cheeseburger with a diet soda . I vote for a Barefaced Big Baby ll.

So true. It feels kinda wacky sometimes to load a heavy ass amp on to a super light cab.

I LOVE my Aggie SL115 cabinets. 400W and 34lbs each with quality side handles that make carrying a breeze. Two 112s always had me wishing for more, but two 115s have been just what the doctor ordered.

Im thinking that I’ll either go with two 8ohm SL212’s or one 4ohm subway 212. Aside from the cost what would the pros / cons be for each?
