+1 A real good movie. Fun to watch all those players. Oteil's Amazing Grace at the end is just great.

Prince - Live at the Aladdin

Just to see a female a bass player, Rhonda Smith, even if we don't see her so much. But this DVD is also great to see how Prince directs his musians on stage: they just have to follow him, start a solo when he wants one, stop tho one when he says so... And that DVD has so mighty funk going on.

Steve Lukather & Los Lobotomys' in concert (ohne filter). John Pena does a great job on it as well as on the studio album (Steve lukather's second solo album from -93). Rock/fusion doesn't get much better than this. :)

Jamiroquai's Live in Verona is great too. I haven't seen the Live at Montreux video so I don't have an opinion on that one...

+10000 on Matthew Garrison!!!! Maurice Fitzgerald is absolutely awesome on Fred Hammond & Radical For Christ Purpose By Design-Live. Here is a track from that DVD:

Is this the one where it really looks (to me & many others here at TB) like Verdine is not actually playing his bass? There are times when I hear funky/staccato fills that sound like they should be played up the neck...and his hand is firmly entrenched near the nut of the neck.
The DVD I'm talking about has a cover shot of the band with a white background & sez "In Concert" at the top...may have been recorded in Japan, too, IIRC.

Watching this right now. Tina is the queen of groove, so tasteful and makes it look way too easy.

David is a freaking weirdo, I love it.
thought it was an exercise video there for a minute, he
was doing laps around the stage. his choreography is defintely wacked. such a strange fella and people
still love him, that's cool. guess it's cause somehow it seems natural and that he's not just an attention whore but
legitimately insane.
