Best location for a bass store

Piggybacking on the recent posts by fishtx about what bass or amp brands you'd like to see at your dream bass store. How about location?

Where would your dream bass store be located? In a retail space? Commercial space, like a business park? Does it matter? Can you only shop for basses when your significant other is clothes shopping, or is bass shopping a destination for you and you'll find it wherever it is? How far would you drive?

(Admission: I've gotten on a plane to go to a bass store. Am I an addict? Guilty as charged!)

We have The Bass Gallery down here and it's moved at least three times since I found out about it....but I always go to their new location...well worth that special trip. Plus, they sell flatwounds!!!

We've looked into getting something started. Done a bit of research etc etc.

The basic consensus was a Bass store doesn't need to be in a high price retail place like a town centre etc tec.

Basically because very few people are going to be buying on a whim or be parents getting the christmas box in but a more considered purchase the fancy store front with high passing trade would be a disadvantage because of the extra overheads involved with little return .

Unlike guitarists bassist seem a bit more accommodating to travel to make a purchase and have a better idea of what they want before getting there.
