Best Megadeth Album for bass

Is that the track with the raga rock section? The timing of that drove me absolutely nuts for a really long time, I just couldn't get it right.

I was a young fingerstyle player when I was listening to Megadeth, and Ellefson was a guy who consistently challenged both my fretting and plucking hand.

That would be the one. I prefer to play it finger style because it's just too much fun; and the groove with the guitar is perfect. The only part that challenges me is the chording at the end of the section. Ellefson is a damned genius with his basslines. You appreciate him alot more once you play his stuff and realize what a player he is. Holy Wars is another one that's really challenging...

Either Peace Sells or RIP. Absolute blistering metal start to finish with all sorts of intricate, killer bass riffage. Ellefson starts to lay back a bit with Countdown and definitely with Youthanasia, but even then his parts just fit really well. Not as busy as earlier albums but he finds was to keep things moving and interesting without sliding into a lame, repetitive, moot grind.

Peace Sells! Songs like Bad Omen or My Last Words showcase that. He even has some cool moments in Good Mourning/Black Friday. Also Youthanasia just for the sheer groove of that album. Sooooooooo good! Not a bad song on that album in my opinion. Killing is my Buisness too. He has some sweet moments. Chosen Ones being the stand out bass wise I think. That little bass solo in that song is sweet! When I first heard it I didn't expect it at all.

And +1 to that! My favorite era for sure and best thrash album ever. You just can't beat the rawness Megadeth had on the first two albums. No offense to The Rust in Peace line up but the Killing is my Buisness and Peace Sells line up just can't be beat! I don't think they'll ever put out an album that good again. The only two that came close for me were Youtanasia and Rust. But even still they don't match up. Chris Poland was a nasty guitar player! Still is! And it's a shame Gar Samulson passed away. My favorite Megadeth drummer.

1-Rust in peace (Lucretia, Poison was the cure, Holy wars)
2-Peace Sells (Wake up dead, Devils island, and of course peace sells)
3-So far, so good... so what! (502, Hook in mouth, Liar)
4-Killing is my business... (These boots, Looking down the cross, Killing is my business... And business is good!)
