Best mic for recording

Hi all,

Does anyone have any idea on the best MIC for home recording bass and guitar in the $100-150 range?

Just looking for a reasonably priced decent MIC really.

If you don't currently own any other microphones, I would suggest you invest in a Shure SM57. It's an industry standard great all around mic in your price range.

SM57 ( or it's very similar sibling the SM58 ) costs about $100 and is used in virtually every studio and every show in the world.

Want something more? The sky's literally the limit when it comes to mic's. Deep subject.

I'll prob give the 57 a go then. Looks like it's a mic you can't go too far wrong with. I can plug it straight into my Scarlett Solo. Thanks for the help guys much appreciated.
