Best pickups for my 4-string?

I have a ESP F-104 and I would like to get a deeper and detailed, more pro-sounding tone out of this bass without having to buy a 2000 dollar bass. I just need to know what pickups would fit the cavity of this kinda bass; I tried looking for pickups but they don't say the size in centimeters or anything, and I dunno the real diference between a P bass and a Jazz bass or all the other pickup types. Can anyone suggest me anything?

Can you post a link to a picture with description of your bass? That'll help a lot.

the pickups seem to be in the emg 35 shape.. if i am correct:

I would reccommend active EMG pickups if you want something very clear and defined with sparkling highs

Bartolini soapbar pickups would also be likely to fit your bass, but these have a much warmer sound with less of an attack than emg pickups.

The Bartolini M34CBC (Classic Bass Series) have a deep bottom and a nice bright top end, unlike the dark sounding Barts. I installed a set of these in the same bass for a customer, along with an Aguilar OBP-3. It sounded much better than the stock pickups.

I think the CBC series is modeled after the original Hi-A pickups.

I can also suggest these ;)
